The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live and work, and the restaurant industry is no exception. In order to keep customers and employees safe, restaurants have implemented a number of new safety precautions. These precautions include:
- Requiring face coverings. All customers and employees are required to wear face coverings at all times, except when they are eating or drinking.
- Maintaining social distancing. Tables are spaced at least 6 feet apart, and restaurants may limit the number of customers allowed inside at one time.
- Sanitizing frequently touched surfaces. Door handles, tables, chairs, menus, and other frequently touched surfaces are sanitized regularly with disinfectant wipes or spray.
- Encouraging contactless ordering and payment. Restaurants may offer contactless ordering and payment options, such as online ordering or QR code menus.
- Providing hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the restaurant for customers and employees to use.
- Training employees on COVID-19 safety protocols. Employees are trained on how to properly wear face coverings, sanitize surfaces, and practice social distancing.
